They have started placing locks on all tenants' water heater closets. I was only given 24 hours notice. They claim that the reason is that NSPIRE regulations require placing locks on the closets. This is a gross misrepresentation of NSPIRE standards, which require that no combustibles should be stored in any space with a furnace or water heater. That's it. If I had a 0 I would choose it. They raised my rent beyond my means. When I first moved in they gave me a two bedroom. Now come September 1st my rent is skyrocketing. I never found out that my voucher was only for a one bedroom a few months ago. I had a medical reason for needing a two bedroom. I battled them for months with my doctor's help but they wouldn't approve the second bedroom. This place is a rip off. They will raise your rent every year wether you can afford it or not. It doesn't matter if you have a voucher. Yet you can't get repairs done. They break more of their rules but God forbid you break one. My rent is beyond my means now so I have to go back to living in my car. I'll never rent from them again
I have nothing but good things to say about the housing coordinators, but I will say that the management at shields and the new director are without any integrity at all and are truly bullying residents and making up policies and rules as they go. Sad to see that this is actually being allowed to go on in a low income housing apartment complex that I once enjoyed.
I moved out recently and got charged for not turning in 4 keys even though I only was given 2 keys, who gives 4 keys?? Also charged for cleaning even though I videoed my cleaning job and it was perfection. They will rip you off so don’t clean your apartment when you leave! Leave it a trashy mess bc theyll charge you $250 either way!
