If you're looking for genuine assistance, you will not get it here at this time. In 2017, when the YMCA was closing, the individual from this organization assigned to assist us in finding and securing future residencies was very courteous and very helpful. Therefore, as a homeless veteran, I assumed that I would receive that same respect. That assumption was not in my favor. The man who answers the phone is useless and sounds miserable. You will ask him a question and he sends you to the website, in which does NOT answer the question you asked!
They have fillable pdfs available for wait list applications online but still said you have to print it out and mail it, which is very inconvenient. There are unnecessary costs to print if you don’t have a printer. It’s 2024, you shouldn’t be making it difficult for people to apply for affordable housing when we have the technology available to e-sign documents and submit them electronically. Spoke with a nice gentleman last week and he was super helpful. Approach things with kindness and respect, see how far it takes you.
Very small staff, so customer service is limited. I've been working with this organization for 12 years and have not been able to find a home. It's true from most of the reviews state. They take your information, and you never hear anything else from them. Waste of time. WRO is more reliable.
