I was not at all happy with this company until they came under new ownership. The previous owner was less than forthcoming and made a lot of promises that were never kept. We contracted John Hayes with House to Home in December 2022 to finalize the design, selections, and plans for our custom dream home, which was already 90% complete when we brought it to him. From the start, the process was plagued by delays, poor communication, and unfulfilled promises. Ok, the good. Most of the work was done well. The bad. SLOW! They kept blaming COVID. They had 6 full mos to make sure we had paint and flooring. We knew cabinets for kitchen would take a while. I get that. But there was no delay on floor lumber or paint at the time. We were told 'no problem' with our June 2 deadline (they were given this deadline in November 2020). We knew stuff would get done after we moved in. But we did not want to live in hotel. We wound up living in a hotel for 3 weeks with 2 kids and 3 cats. Electrica... read more
