House of Wong is the House of Wrong. Let me explain. I had a groupon which I showed the waitress prior to ordering dinner. When the check came I placed the groupon in the folder and the manager said the coupon was already used on Dec 5th at 9:00 AM . Now get this they aren't open at 9:00 AM. I had to call the Clayton police Department. These people are unethical and are thieves. Please do not spend your hard earned money here.
Best Chinese food outside of China – Great sit-down restaurant and not some cheesy buffet. The waiters were excellent; quick and attentive. The crab rangoons were the best I've ever had and the Shanghai street noodles made me think I was back in China. Most entrees were between $8 and $12. Parking was the only drawback. It took a few minutes to find a spot with a meter about a block away.
Best Chinese in St. Louis – Chinese in St. Louis is pretty iffy. No real authentic destinations (at least not as presented to American diners, anyway). This place is the best I've found in a central location. Good lunch specials and everything on the menu has been excellent. If I have one complaint it's that the waiter didn't know what low carb was. I guess that's too much to ask... Definitely give it a try if you like Chinese.
Not your typical Chinese restaurant – Most Chinese restaurants are adorned with photos of the Great Wall of China, cat clocks or faux black marble counters, but this place is different. It has a more sophisticated decor and a fresh flavor. The food here is great, not smothered in all kinds of heavy sticky sauces. The chicken is very tender and rice is just right. I wish I still lived in Clayton to enjoy this restaurant as much as I used to.
BEST CHINESE FOOD IN THE CITY – House of Wong is a quaint, friendly sit-down chinese restaurant that I have come to love. The menu is very large, with many choices. Also, it is very affordable...even for a college student! You get a free meal on your birthday and the staff is always nice. They also have a full service bar, with a lot of unique spirits. There best item on the menu is "Wong's Hot Chicken" and their CRAB RAGOON. Their crag ragoon is the best I've EVER had!
Best Chinese in a City Without Much Good Chinese – With the proliferation of huge Chinese mega buffets it's refreshing that there are still a few sit-down types left with good food. While a molten chocolate fountain or pizza might satisfy the appetite for some who eat Chinese, the rest of us who are looking for service and at least somewhat authentic Chinese food enjoy a place like House of Wong. It's mix of innovative menu items and traditional favorites coupled with friendly service, make it an overall pleasant dining expe... read more
