not for the advanced players. The violins here would definitely not cut it for any advanced player. THey look nice and shiny but the sound is awful. This is more of a place for beginners, they have good rentals there. Some of the more expensive ones are mediocre but not of rthe price. PROS: good rental CONS: soso instruments, baaad price

crabby equals lost customer My family stopped in to look at purchasing a new violin. We were willing to pay good money. However, an older man with gray hair who was helping us was consistently crabby with us. I understood later that he preferred appointments but we had already made the effort to drive in so he could have tried to have been more pleasant. Because of his poor customer service, we purchased a new violin outfit at Groth Music in Bloomington. Groth was more courteous/friendly and plus they had outstanding equipme... read more

Extremely knowledgeable, friendly and a pleasure doing business with. As our family comes to the realization that our high schooler will never end up being a world class violinist, and that his years of playing will come to and end this June, we can not help but to reflect on and express or gratitude to the House of Note for all the help over the years. We started our relationship with a 1/16th and the customer service, knowledge and support from the staff there grew with us as our violin size grew. Whether it was a simple s... read more

Great service This is a fantastic violin shop. Staff is knowledgable and honest. They fixed my violin and it has never sounded better. The shop worked one-on-one with me to make sure it sounded exactly how I like it. I'm not taking my violin anywhere else!

not worth the crabby service We drive across the metro area to go to house of note because we have been told they are great. However, one of the staff members is consistently crabby. Beware of the guy with the white hair. I'm thinking about going elsewhere just so I can be treated with the kindness every customer deserves.

House of Note - Do NOT go there I laughed a little when I read the posts below mine. The owner of the post below is known as "Bob M" on another website to say good things about the House of Note (all lies) - clearly marks it untrustworthy. Without doubt, it is from people who work there. I, however, was an actual customer and this is an honest review that I have written to help you. The reason that I am writing this review is for the TERRIBLE service that I have received at the House of Note located at Minneapolis, Minnesota... read more

The Best Violin Shop in the Twin Cities I took my 6 figure violin in for routine maintenance and it came back better than ever! The staff is exceedingly knowledgeable. I have had several students purchase instruments that are outstanding in both tone and value. I purchased a fine old French bow for myself and couldn't be more pleased. I would recommend this shop to anyone. I know that many of the professionals in the area exclusively take their instruments and bows to this shop. This is truly a world class violin shop!

for beginners- to moderate violinists this is a good place to rent a violin. The violins there are average. Definitely playable. I would buy from a private dealer if you want a better one though. I recomend this place to amateur violinists.
