Run around Gave me a huge run around about adopting a kitten, just to tell me it was denied one month later. Called previous times in the month and was told to wait for the call. Was not happy with the management, the lady on the phone did not even pretend to care or reason. I had my heart set on a kitten from there and they gave me a really stupid reason for why I absolutely could not adopt from their business. Previous ownership of a cat in the same home did not make me the owner. They held it against me that my family had... read more

Wonderful place to volunteer or adopt House of Mews is a sort of rescue shelter for kitties and cats. The folks here are very nice and good to the animals, but they always need volunteers, so this is a good place to spend some philanthropic hours. Also, if you're looking to adopt, House of Mews is a good destination to find a cat who really needs a home.

Wonderful!! The House of Mews is a cat rescue/ santuary in the Cooper Young area of Memphis. It is a cat paradise. When you walk in the door, there are kitties every where! I adopted two kitties from them. It is a wonderful place and I highly recommend the House of Mews to anyone looking to adopt a kitty!

Cat Hoarder I tried adopting a cat from you. The lady I spoke with told me I was an unfit onwer cruel to anmial and that I wasn't the type of person they adopt cats to. All because I have a dog outside. She also attacked me personally on my job and where I live. I went there to adopt a cat after my cat I'd had for 21 years passed, she all but accused me of killing her. Obviously, if someone has a cat for 21 years they take very good care of it! Every review I read said the lady was mean to people also. If you really cared ab... read more

A wonderful place for sweet animals House of Mews is such a great place because the people here take good care of the animals and they try their best to match cats with the right owners. They're always in need of volunteers and people who want to adopt. They also host a 5k (and have for a few years now). It's a fun run and proceeds go to the facility and taking care of the cats.

Traumatic Experience The House of Mews is a very wonderful place which I very much enjoyed. My experience although with the service was absolutely terrifying. The lady in the store was elderly with gray hair. Seemed nice at first until she came up to the front. She was very very rude & cruel. She spoke to me with hate & questioned my knowledge on certain things. She told me that she felt sorry for me & was worried about my lack of knowledge on cats being nudered & spained. She belittled me & made me very sad that day. The pl... read more

I loved coming in and being able to play with and pet all the animals. The place appears very well kept, the animals look well taken care of and the women working at the time were very helpful and informative. I was hesitant to go there as I did not hear good things about the customer service, but I suppose they got their act together. Very nice place and would definitely recommend adopting from there.

I went in on a Saturday to see if I could sign up to volunteer. I am not sure what the lady's name was, she worked there and was very rude. After finally getting her to talk to me, I filled out an application. She told me to come in on Monday morning before 7am. I live across town but I managed to get there 10 minutes early. When I arrived she was walking out with some other volunteers. She said they started earlier than normal because of some filming on the street and the street was going to be closed. Did she call me? No! ... read more

We just went to The House of News with the intent of adopting two cats and making a donation. However, my husband and I brought our dog (who has been raised with our cats, is exceptionally well behaved, and a fully trained purebred husky). My husband waited outside with our dog while I went in to look at the cats and ask for an application; however, the woman behind the desk apparently didn't have the sense to realize that I owned the dog that was sitting outside, not making the least bit of trouble or even acknowledging all... read more
