This store obviously has closed. It was locked, and all you could see through the windows was furniture.
I love House Of Fabrics And Design. Melanie and Ruby are incredible to work with, and unlike the huge fabric stores, you actually get one on one fabric consultation. Instead of browsing through endless rows of fabric without any help to be found, Melanie and Ruby will consider your specific design needs and point you to an appropriate fabric for the job. They are warm, friendly people who have obvious expertise, and you can tell that they really enjoy what they do. This is a Durham design spot not to be missed!
Brought in my own fabric for some custom window seat cushions and velvet pillows. Melanie was so easy to work with and delivered a quality job for a good price. Also picked out some beautiful fabric in the shop for a great price, and did a couple more custom cushions. Highly recommend.
I visited yesterday to find fabrics for my mother. Great selection covering a range of price points. One lovely linen weave for $5 a yard. Whoa! I brought my mom several choices to consider and can't wait to purchase her choices this morning. The staff is very friendly and helpful, generous with cuttings. It is next to a consignment shop so you could feasibly purchase a dowdy chair next door and whip it over to the fabric shop for an update!
Very nice fabric shop. Small enough to do a quick visit, but has a large selection of fabrics. They also sell accessories and wall paper. Great place!!
