A friend told me about this great little yarn shop in The Dalles and I was really excited to take a look around. It took me a couple weeks to get to town, but I made the trip this weekend and I am glad I did. The shop is on a little side street downtown. If you follow Google maps you'll loop around through an alley, so just turn one block before it says to (coming from the east). The shop is on the smaller side, but very cosy. House of ala Mode is a upbeat, fun place to buy yarn, learn new things and find community. But that's just the beginning. From the yummy hand dyed yarns, with rich color pallets, to the well curated kits for embroidery, this place never fails to have cutting edge products and ideas. AND a large variety of affordable yarns for the beginner. Check out the website if you live far away. But my favorite part is the owners. Fun, open and knowledgeable. Big supporters of our community. So happy they chose our small town.

House of A La Mode is my favorite yarn shop by far! Heather is super helpful and the shop is always welcoming. The in-house dyed yarn is great to work with and comes in some really wonderful colors. The shop also carries some great yarn brands and fun notions.
