I booked and paid for a room online, check in is at 3pm. I arrived at 5pm and was told my room wasn’t ready yet and wouldn’t be until 6:30 or so. I was then told I could wait in the lobby or come back later. I sat in the lobby for about 45 minutes, but had an event I had to be at by 6, so I ended up having to change clothes and get ready in the lobby bathroom. Made reservations 3 months prior to our stay as Minot had 4 big events going on state basketball, state archery, state gymnastics and other events. Get to the hotel to check in at 5:30 pm guy at front desk says he is overbooked and didnt have a room for me. I believe he thought I would just leave but I told him I wasnt and he needed to find me a room somewhere. He left for awhile and finally came back saying he found a room. I’ve stayed here in the past and it was a better experience. There was a guy in maintenance, very kind, who always helped me with my heavy bags since the hotel has no elevator. Being older, I really appreciated that attention. On my recent visit, I was disappointed because I couldn't find him. I asked the housekeeping staff for a little help with a bag, but they simply ignored me. I didn't push it and just left. I like the hotel, but they need to be more attentive.

My kids loved the pool but the water was freezing cold! Saturday night there was a band playing poolside. Location is nice, next to the mall. Great breakfast.
