What's shown on their website and what you get is very different. Where do I start.... AC is so loud that the whole room is shaking. The room stinks of mold/moisture. Windows painted over, do not open. The built in closet has no place to store clothes - to rail/hangers or shelves. The bathroom - grout missing in floor tiles, mouldy ceiling. Location - Canal street is the weirdest place ever, where in the evening, these hot rod 3 wheel motorcycles with huge built in speakers and subwoofers cruise and create a ton on noise. Ok hear me out...it has potential. And it was not awful...but the pictures online are definitely misleading. I don't know what floor those rooms are on but it wasn't mine. My room was much older and was a little like being in someone's attic. Overall I would describe it as maybe a little dingey. The room was mostly clean but there are just a few changes that could make a big difference. This is my favorite hotel in NOLA. This is also my second time staying here in a two week period, and that says alot. This place is clean, has beautiful views, and is in a great location. There's a bar at this hotel, plenty of places to eat, and lots of places to shop, all within walking distance. This hotel has a balcony on each floor. The balcony is where I spend most of my time taking in New Orleans, the culture, the people, the food, the music, the moment.
Our family had a wonderful time at the Hotel Maison Pierre Lafitte. The hotel offered an old time look and feel, and it was located very close to Canal Street and the French Quarter. The staff were all very nice and very willing to help. The second and third floors had balconies, and offered exterior furnishings, which allowed for outside coffee/beverage enjoyment while watching pedestrian, trolley, and other vehicular movement on Canal Street throughout the day.
