I recently stayed at Hotel Lela for a few nights on very short notice, and while the property itself is beautiful and the rooms are clean, modern, and comfortable, the true highlight of my stay was Ray. As a Hilton Diamond member, I stay at Hilton properties across the country throughout the year, and I can honestly say Ray provided some of the best hospitality I've experienced. My stay at Lela Wilmington was absolutely amazing! From the moment I checked in, the staff made me feel welcome and valued. A special shoutout to MJ at the front desk, who truly went above and beyond. She not only made sure everything with my room was perfect, but she also checked in throughout my stay to make sure I was enjoying my trip overall. AVOID this overpriced, remodeled-Days-Inn style hotel, that underrepresents Hilton and the Tapestry brand. Has a shares amenities with a less expensive Tru hotel connected to the same property. Overpopulated pool that hasn’t been cleaned in who knows how long. Sloppy management doesn’t even organize or clean cabanas or pool deck during off hours. Algae moldy cabanas. stayed at this hotel from Monday through Thursday. Overall, it was a pleasant stay. The hotel was clean, and the front desk staff was always friendly and helpful. The only issue at first was that the refrigerator in my room didn't work. I reported it, and they tried to fix it the next day, but it stopped working again that night. I recently stayed at this hotel in room 1248 during my first beach trip to Wilmington and unfortunately had a very disappointing experience. During my stay, I encountered several issues such as no housekeeping, had to request fresh as I was told that our room wasn’t on the schedule. Front desk was apologetic. However, also had “maintenance” walk into our room at 2AM because our room was marked out of service. We only stayed for two nights so this negatively impacted the trip as it was issue after issue.
