I recently stayed at this hotel for a single night. The reviews looked good, as well as the area. But there were a few things that can be improved and should be known by others before booking. First, right next door is a nightclub, and all of the college kids hang out right outside the hotel til around 2 am, and they are extremely loud. Secondly, the room was very small and did not seem to be the cleanest. The toilet also made very loud sounds when used and did not flush properly. The bed was not the worst. I wrote a previous review that was very negative because I couldn't sleep and was not happy with the place. Truthfully, the room was somewhat cramped and the air conditioning didn't work well. Sleep was poor because of the warmth. The owner wanted to comp the room but we refused to take it for free. At our insistence he agreed to charge us a reasonable price. I give them extra points for wanting to make it right.

Very nice small town upscale place. Friendly staff, clean rooms, no onsite parking - only street and a free lot 1/2 block away. In a town this small/quaint this was not a concern - very safe area.

Wonderful stay at Hotel Chester! The staff went above and beyond, even upgrading us from one room to two adjoining rooms. Everything was clean, comfortable, and full of Southern charm. Highly recommend!

The food was good. The room was nice, felt more like being in a B&B than a commercial hotel. My wife and I mostly loved the selection of beers in their beer garden
