I have been using Hot Shot’s Secret Diesel Winter Anti-Gel - 4 OZ / 12 PK for the last two winters and I am satisfied. Only complaint is that the seals on some of the bottle-caps were not sealed well and the liquid leaked out while in transit. By the way I got to know this product by watching PROJECT FARM on YouTube and this product performed well.
I drove a four stroke gasoline engine, Acura RSX type S red lines at 9500 RPM and I’m the fourth owner. In the late 60’s early 70’s my dad was a Frantz dealer and used one on every vehicle he owned. 40 years ago when I bought my first diesel pickup he gave me one of his old filters and three pickups later I’ve had it on each. Attached is where I just installed it on my 2017 Ram. It’s the front bracket where the body bolts to the frame. Plenty of room, easy access and install.
Excellent bypass filter. With no room in the engine bay for the provided mounting bracket I welded two eye drops on a flat bar and secured the filter from the top of the intake horn with the filter fitting between the radiator return hose and the intake horn. This setup should be easy to change filters and to remove the bracket with filter attached if I need to do any repairs below. Blessings
Well the proof will be when I oil sample. But this has been used for many years. Pictures are where I mounted on my 07 Dodge Cummins. I built the bracket to mount to the head and it's away from the hot turbo.
