As a long-term cancer patient, there are times when I have needed emergency care. Last week, I went to Horizon Health EMS in horrible pain. I was processed immediately, given appropriate care and tests and quickly transported by their ambulance staff to the larger hospital where I had been a surgical patient, recently. I cannot thank the doctors, nurses, EMTs and all support staff enough for taking such excellent care of me. We will definitely be using Horizon's ER Dept again, if necessary.
The Horizon Health EMS Ambulance service is a big step down from the ambulance services previously afforded Edgar County residents by the Edgar County Special Service Area Ambulance. I have had to place a call for an ambulance twice since Horizon Health EMS has taken over and both times I have been grossly unimpressed.
