2 year review update: Dear Everyone, after 2 years of solar panels from Horan and Bird, we are no better off then had we kept our old system. It is going to take decades to get our investment back. We lost our 44c per Kw under the recommendation to go a whole new system that cost us $12K. I may as well have dropped the money in the bin. I first had Horan and Bird install 5.5kw Solar system late 2019 and I was really happy with the reduction to my power bill. Battery has interested me for some time and after due consideration, review and discussion with the Mackay team I decided to have another 2.5kw Solar panels and a Battery installed. The battery system is set up under the Hinen Battery connected on a Virtual Power Plant (VPP). So i get some money back over the year from exporting. Fast and professional install. The team kept me well informed throughout as well. I’m glad I chose these guys to install my solar.
The organisation of this company is below satisfactory. The different cells do not communicate with eachother and it has left us weeks behind schedule regardless of the twice weekly chase up. I would recommend another company, or be prepared for the continuous chase up game to get the job done. Update: response from the owner that they did not have me as a customer, attempting to dismiss my review? See attached job order.
