We started off great, but things quickly went downhill. We haven't been using Hopkins for a few years now, but for the 4 years prior, roughly 2017-2021, our corporate and personal tax prep was a nightmare. Filings were late, incorrect, incurred IRS penalties, and required SO much of our time and follow up. We tried to make it work with Hopkins, but ultimately we went with another local firm that was more expensive and have had zero issues.
Can't reach them! Anyone have a way to get through? They didn’t have the one of my tax documents done correctly, and the IRS is positioning to fine me a large amount For something they did incorrectly. Update: They have denied calls, texts and emails. Their assistant made it clear that Charles understands the situation yet they have refused to send my files from this year. Stay as far away from this company as possible. It doesn't let you give negative stars. I contracted Hopkins Tax in Nov 2018 for work. They took monthly payments from me throughout 2019 with the understanding that it takes that long to prepare my case. In 2020, after my account had been settled, they continued to charge me. I reached out to them in Jan 2020 to find out why I was still paying them more than what was in our contract and they had no idea who I was.
