Update 4/6/26: Laurel has quit so I was transferred to Shawny. She has been a wonderful asset to have & is truly talented/lovely. Unfortunately, the system itself is still broken. I have been recommended to Bay Side Clubhouse so i am hopeful they can help me make progress. The gov needs to fund & strengthen these programs, or many people will continue to fall through. Stay away from Laurel- and ask for a supervisor sooner than I did!! I spent 6 months confused, tossed around, not given any answers, belittled, ignored...she canceled our appointments last minute, dodged my questions, basically told me to figure everything out myself for the sake of "independence." Yikes, yikes, yikes. Spent 5 months trying to receive any sort of guidance or care. Got me signed up for housing + Medicaid, about it. Never really hear back from anyone about anything, sometimes you wait for weeks to hear back or never get an answer at all. Everything is very confusing, nothing is explained to you. Overworked, untrained staff. They didn't even know why I was there or who referred me when I went to my Medicaid eval. Never got my pysch testing referral. Felt uncared for + confused.
