Seafood lovers (2 adults, 2kids) here we decided to finally give this place a try since we’re Denton locals and have passed by it many times. We ordered 2 lbs of crawfish with potatoes and corn ($21), 1 lb of shrimp with sausage ($28), three fountain drinks, fried okra as an appetizer, and fries bringing our total to around $100. New remodel looked great! Unfortunately that's the end of the things that are great. Food experience was worse then before and the portion size has suffered from shrink-flation. Was excited and craving some good food and left not planning on being back anytime soon.
First issue was how LONG the food took. It took 45 minutes for the chicken entree to come out and we still had to wait an additional 8 minutes for the gumbo (which I only got when I walked to the front and asked about my order) and AN ADDITIONAL 10 minutes for me to get my house salad. By the time I actually got to taste the food the rice was hard, gumbo flavorless and no follow up service!! Definitely NOT worth it
The new place is more island theme and less New Orleans. The food is still very. They have a full bar now, but no place to sit at the bar.
