I've had better rental experiences in 3rd world countries. Deposit refund still pending a month later. Rude employee, Toyota matrix ran terribly, felt like the whole subframe would move when braking, check engine light blacked out. Made a stink about a ¼ teaspoon of sand in the back, made us go clean it again, and then didn't even check when we brought it back. I suppose that's what you get for renting the cheapest car in town
We rented this car for a week and were extremely disappointed. The woman who rented it to us told us she was giving us a discount when we went to pay, and I wanted to say, “Thank goodness,” because the car was in such a terrible state. The seats were stained, as was the trunk. She actually told us she wanted us to return the car as clean as she gave it to us—we just laughed. If you're in downtown Waikiki, this is the place to be for a rental car! My family and I got a high performance Camaro that looked like Bumble Bee from Transformers (even better with a convertible top!) Pricing was reasonable, especially when factoring in the Uber/Lyft ride to and from the airport. Vicki was the salesperson and is so kind! My brother has autism and she was so lovely in her interactions with him.
The front desk lady is rude, the car we had was the soft top jeep but she told us not to remove the roof since it’s hard to put back on so they charge you a large chunk if you do that. The car was also dirty and not in good condition - mirrors broken for e.g. I’ve attached a photo of the back of our jeep, where there were no windows so naturally the wind brought in sand during the drive - she said she’d charge us $75 unless we clean it ourselves. I wouldn’t rent from here again.
