The seafood here would be great no matter what the view. There is something about the sight of a gorgeous sunset beyond the blue horizon that brings out the best in the fresher-than-fresh dishes here. Tanks of live fish and shellfish greet you at the door of this restaurant that is decorated with gilded wood and Asian art. The preparation of the cuisine, including a perfectly splendid selection of dim sum, is meticulous and expert. Whether Sea Bass grilled simply with lemongrass or baked as part of a clay pot dinner, everyth... read more

I like the dim sum – Lucky to find this restaurant. I didn't know there were any restaurants by the Emeryville pier. Dim sum is good , they can give you more, but good enough. Lots of choices. Nice view from where we sat looking out to the San Francisco Bay.
Dim sum was good. Lots of people on weekends. The ocean view itself is amazing. You'll enjoy the walk around the restaurant while you wait for your table. Customer service is also good. They forgot to put the dessert on our bill so we ended up getting them for free. I also lost my wedding ring in the sink that same day, but they took apart the pipes to get it for me.
Excellent view and food – The ocean view is awesome and dim sum is delicious. Customer service is also good. They didn't mark down our dessert on the bill so they gave it to us for free. I also lost my ring on that same day into the sink's drain, but they had someone take apart the pipes to retrieve it for me. Anyone passing the area must stop by for a visit.
Caters to Chinese Patrons – After reading all the reviews here, I was surprised, I have always received excellent service at this restaurant, and it is one of my family?s favorites. Then, I realized that most of the reviews were complaining that the waiters spoke little to no English. True. This restaurant caters specifically to its Chinese patrons, and doesn?t worry about interlopers who don't speak Cantonese. Unfair? Maybe, but this restaurant has thrived for many years, and the food is always excellent. I guess if you wan... read more
This is one of the best Chinese Food Restaurant in the East Bay. The food is really delicious and the prices is just right.
I had dim sum at the Hong Kong EAST OCEAN Restaurant years ago and remembered it as a great dining and cultural experience. We went again this weekend and had another wonderful dim sum brunch. The menu is the first part of the adventure, it lists 77 dim sum options - many of which inflamed our imagination if not our appetites, such as "Chicken Paws with Spicy Herb Sauce", "Tortoise Plastron and Herbal Jelly" and "Beef Tendons and Honey Comb". We enjoyed making our choices and then sat back and enjoyed the views of San Franci... read more
Good dim sum, awesome view, terrible service... – I've eaten here at least a dozen times. I love their dim sum, they've got a beautiful view, but it never fails, everytime I go here, I get the worst service. Every server barely speaks English and is just improperly trained. You literally have to call them over a couple times just to get your glass of water filled. And forget trying to order a dish you don't know the name of, for you'll end up struggling trying to explain the dish to like 3 different servers and getting the w... read more
Gorgeous view and delicious food!! – Have been there for dinner once and thought the place was elegant. The food was delicious, and able to see the city lights. Went back for dim-sum on the weekend, and it was packed!!! Had to wait 30mins, but it was well worth it. And this time I was able to enjoy the view in day light, spectacular. A great place to go for special occassions and for great food!
Excellent food and location – Excellent view of the city - especially for a Chinese Restaurant. Food is excellent. And the place is always packed. Service is good though they can use more staff. Try their Fried Custard buns....they are soooo good. And not all restaurants offer them fried. Price is fair for the food and location. Nice place for lunch - can take a walk outside afterwards to enjoy the ocean breeze during summer time (too cold to walk after dinner).
