The thermostat on my water heater is made by Honeywell and failed, flooding my house and causing about 12,000 in damage. These thermostats are made of plastic and there are multiple reports of the plastic developing a hole and leaking. I purchased a Honeywell space heater fromTarget 3 months ago. I no longer have my receipt. The heater is producing an awful nauseating burning smell. My wife purchased a Honeywell programmable thermostat (RTH8500) from Home Depot for $49.00 plus tax on 12/03/17 as a Christmas gift. I received it on 12/25/17 and it was installed by our licensed HVAC contractor on 5/10/18. If I could review this company with no stars I would. I am having difficulty with my security system and had I known that Honeywell does not support their product I would never have purchased it. The dealers do not inform the customer of this either so if you have a problem with the dealer you are between a rock and a hard place.
I purchase Honeywell RTH8580WF last year. The thermostat worked for about half year and start to lose wifi connection randomly. I received at least 8 lost connection email last 3 days. I contacted their customer service for advice. First the response is very slow and normally takes two business days and second the response was always copy and paste no matter who replied.
