Do your homework before signing up with Dave and Honey Electric to install a whole house backup generator. Their responsiveness is great but my personal experience with them left me viewing them as dishonest and not qualified to install Generac backup generators. I paid to have a 20 kw Generac generator installed. Dave insisted on collected 90% of the money up front. They came while we were on vacation and installed an 18-kw unit. My experience is exactly like the first review. We had a leak in our hot tub. Honey came out. He removed one panel and looked for a few minutes without a flashlight. He said he couldnt find anything leaking. He then said it would be $300. He was there for 10 minutes. He also said I needed a new cover and it was $1,200. The most expensive one I could find online was $700. We called another repairman. He took all the panels off till he found the leak. He was here for 2 hours and charged me about the same money. Asked them to look at hot tub to see where it was leaking from and if it could be fixed. Opened one side and looked. Told me it would have to be taken apart with hours worth of labor, which I was not willing to do. He put side back on and handed me a bill for $300! He said it was $150 service charge and $150 labor! He was here for about 30 minutes!
