My grandparents first opened Honey Creek Orchard in the mid 1950's. Over the years apple trees were planted, with hundreds of varieties of irises to follow. They were second generation orchardists. The irises, a gorgeous flower they cultivated and developed, were my grandparents' favorite. They also developed their own hybrids. My grandmother designed the expansive house that is now Honey Creek Cottage, and my grandfather had the good fortune of living and spending his last days among the intensely caring staff who purchased... read more
