Homewood Suites by Hilton Chicago Downtown South Loop was a great home base for us, my husband, and our dog during our 6-week stay. The location is amazing, the rooms are fully equipped for a longer stay, and the gym was surprisingly great. We barely got to use the pool and hot tub because they were often overrun with kids, and there were even babies in the hot tub without parents around at times. Pros: - Location. Within walking distance to the Shedd, Adler Planetarium and the Field Museum. Also within walking distance to Michigan Ave, Grant Park and Cloud Gate. - No shortage of places to eat near by. Since there is a kitchen in the room, it’s great that there’s a Trader Joe’s near by so you can cook a meal or two yourself in your room also. - Rooms comfortable. Plenty of space to relax. Hotel appeals to conventions, tourists and families. Room has a cat urine smell. Getting staff to pay attention is a challenge. This is a slightly edited review from a few days. Their response was to tell me to send an email. Hotel location is great. Next to the park and close to museums. Hotel’s public spaces feel crowded.
