Prepared FIRTPA papers for my clients. This company deals with some favorite accounting company and over paid for FIRPTA paperwork. They had an excuse to deal with other company and wrote to me with some inaccurate information . I did not want to come in between my client and Title company, as closing could be delayed. It is not a good practice to do that and show favoritism to another accounting firm though I am a CPA my self. Owner of this title company may be careful as it amounts to discrimination.
They were absolutely horrible. I strongly recommend looking for another title company. As a first-time homebuyer, I specifically asked how I could pay my closing costs, and they clearly told me by email that bringing cash was acceptable. Because of that, I had to rush to an ATM, withdraw U.S. dollars from my Canadian bank account, and pay expensive extra fees.
