I bought hearing aids in March 2011 after comparing several companies and doctor offices. I got them for the same price as Costco quoted. The reason i chose Hometown Hearing over Costco is that Costco has the audiologist there only part time and it would not be as convenient for questions or follow ups. And the same person is not always there. I prefer to get more personalized care. The staff at Hometown has been there a long time and i really liked them. Made an appointment for a hearing test. Once I arrived they said I had wax in my ear and it would cost \$75 to clean the ear before taking the \$48 dollar hearing test. I said no thanks and he said you cant take the test then. I left without having the test and went to Walmart where I purchased ear wax removal kit for \$3.50. Not much wax came out so I am very suspect about the wax buildup statement. I would stay clear of this place.
