The guys at Hometown go the extra mile every day, as they have for at least 10 vehicles for my 4-driver family over 15 years. Won't do it on your car if they wouldn't do it on their own. Charge less than anyone else -- and give better service than anyone else in greater Madison area. Often don't charge for test drives or quick fixes you'd pay $50 to $$100 for elsewhere. Most honest, forthright people you're likely to find. And knowledgeable across makes and models. I have sent 8-10 people here and all are regular customers

These guys are friendly, efficient, and super fair! I'd taken my car to three mechanics to get quotes and the list of what I needed to get done, and after getting told a laundry list of repairs by other guys, the mechanic here told me I only needed four things, and that I could probably wait a couple thousand miles before getting them. They quoted $35 for an oil change over the phone. Then they handed me a bill for $65. They claimed my vehicle needed synthetic oil, which it doesn't, but no one asked me if I wanted synthetic oil and I was sitting in the office. Also, that doesn't justify an extra $30 charge. My receipt was not itemized to show any of this. In the future I will avoid their duplicitous business practices and go elsewhere. In my old city, I always got a 19.95 oil change with a free tire rotation and no unexpected charges pushed on me.
If you're looking for a honest mechanic this is the place. Very nice and will give you options on repairs if you don't have a ton of money to spend. I would HIGHLY recommend this place!! I won't go anywhere else for repairs of oil changes.
