I wouldn't recommend Homestar at all. The interest rate is good, but everything else is terrible. They have a flat daily limit to transfer of $25k so you can only transfer bits at a time (ridiculous when buying a car) They also dont transfer any money over weekends and if you transfer late Friday, it doesnt start moving until Monday and the funds get received by Tuesday. Staff are in the Philippines (despite having an Australian voice recording when you initially call) and dont always get it right. We received very bad advic... read more
Shocking systems and inadequate staff training result in lengthy phone conversations over simple questions or concerns. Be prepared to make follow-up calls, if necessary, after your initial call. I decided to refinance with a lender that has a slightly higher rate, as the cheaper rate was not worth the countless hours of calling over the last 5 years.
Very happy with my home loan experience. Their customer service was excellent—friendly, professional, and quick .
