I purchased a coffee machine from this store 10 days ago and ultimately decided it wasn’t the right fit for me. Since then, I chose to purchase a different machine elsewhere and attempted to return this one to HomeGoods. Unfortunately, the manager, Joseph, refused to accept the return even though it was well within the store’s stated 30-day return policy. His reasoning was that the machine had been used. Normally this is my go-to Home Goods spot, especially next to Daiso and the donuts place. But I had the worst possible customer service experience here today with an employee I have never seen before, who first agreed to discount a damaged item, then claimed the discounting system was damaged and down and he could actually NOT discount the item, and then when I asked if he could simply issue the value of the discount as store credit, was mysteriously unable to do that as well.
