My original home loan was closed Feb. 2019. They transferred a bunch of loans at the time and so my newer home loan has been reported as being paid on time every month since then. For some reason Homebridge reported a missing payment June 2019 for the account that had already been closed since Feb. 2019. I have been calling ever since and each time I call I get the same answer " we opened an investigation and it could take 3-5 business days to get an answer." Our records indicate that the borrower submitted a customer review on the Better Business Bureau’s website on November 18, 2019 regarding negative credit reporting for the June 2019 payment. After further research, it was determined that HomeBridge inadvertently reported negatively to Equifax for November 2019 and Experian for June 2019. HomeBridge has contacted the credit bureaus to remove the derogatory credit reporting and a letter dated December 5, 2019 was sent to the borrower at her property address. The whole renovation loan process has been a nightmare. I had to choose a contractor, from a list of "approved" contractors, which ended up either not doing the job timely or with poor workmanship. I had to fire the contractor and was unable to find another “approved” contractor in the area. I was allowed to subcontract which them meant checks being issued weeks and months after the inspection of the job completed. Our mortgage was sold to them last year and then transferred to another division earlier this year. After 20 years of having mortgages with other companies, I've never experienced this level of incompetence. Example: Today is May 6th. I received a letter from them dated April 30th stating that our May 1st and June 1st payment and that our loan is in default. I have unfortunately had only negative experience with HomeBridge. I recently processed a payment online and made an error in entering my bank account information. As soon as I discovered the situation, I attempted to resolve it by calling HomeBridge with my regular bank on the phone line simultaneously. HomeBridge did not notify me of the problem, I discovered it myself when I did not see the appropriate deduction from my account and proactively reached out to HomeBridge to address whatever the problem may be. I had been out of work for roughly 8 months when I requested a loan modification from Homebridge. It took more than two months after the modification was requested for them to approve the trial modification. I was to make 3 trial modification payments and then have the account reviewed for a final modification. I made my trial payments in June, July and August. Dealing with HomeBridge has been profoundly frustrating. I have been trying to close my account with them for more than 6 weeks, and despite my nearly daily efforts to move the matter forward, NOTHING has happened. After catching them lying to me and pointing out to them the conflicting, inconsistent, and misleading information they've given me ... they now don't respond to any e-mail, they won't answer any question. This company paid my insurance late and caused a lapse in my coverage, then they paid it and went ahead and bought me more without telling me I needed to raise the amount I was insured for. They make all kinds of excuses, including "I don't know why" They were supposed to call me back in 24 hours and it's been 48. They are clueless!!! Will be filing a complaint if I don't hear from them pretty soon.
