I am in my 90s and currently live in an independent living facility. However, realizing that I may eventually need a higher level of care, I began investigating assisted living facilities in the New Bern area. The experience my wife had in assisted living for seven months was horrible. She ended up in the E.R./ hospital multiple times because of medication malpractice and negligence. The administrator and nursing director are not professional or transparent. My wife is now at Truewood and the care is superior to the Home Place. Don't make a decision to admit your loved one to a "pretty" facility. Make it based on the compassionate care your loved one deserves.

I would like to thank the memory care staff for taking such good care of our mother in the last days of her life. The staff lovingly referred to her as "Aunt Doris" . Thank You

Sonya, at the main desk is THE asset to Home Place. She is welcoming, helpful, knowledgeable, and supportive of the Home Place residents and their families. You can’t do better than Sonya!
