When he does Moh's surgery, it's like assembly line medicine. There are 10 people in the office and he goes from one person to the next. There is little individualization as occurred with me - he took out a lot of tissue rather than a small amount and sending it to the lab to check for margins. I incurred a large, very ugly scar on my face. The nurse that works with him spent the whole time talking about the Star Wars movie.

Dear Erose, While Mohs days in practices with a high burden of skin cancer tend to be busy, it's a goal of mine that each patient feel cared for personally. I am very sorry that this was not your experience. My aim is to remove all cancers with a small margin, but when tumors are large, removed tissue can be considerable. Please be assured that I do check all margins intraoperatively. Surgical wounds can take 12 months to mature, but if you still aren't happy with your scar, please contact us.
