The Hollywood Theatre is, by far, my favourite venue in the city. As someone who goes to a lot of shows, The Hollywood ticks all the boxes: * Incredible sound * Fantastic sightlines * A gorgeous venue * Great staff * Easy parking * An excellent selection of local bevvies * Plus, a well-made Negroni They’re also incredibly community-minded, regularly hosting events with local residents in mind. Saw Faouzia tonight (Aug 3). She's incredible! However, this venue's sound system is primarily two line arrays which are positioned on the left and right hand sides of the stage. I was front and centre, right in front of her, and felt like I had poor sound quality. I could barely hear her over the drums, let alone the keyboard and guitar. Disappointing, considering being excited to see Faouzia and the amount we paid for tickets.
