Avoid Dr. Jay Oates. Total lack of information and current education or knowledge regarding Orthopedics and medications. This being priority and legal reasons to hold a medical license, this alone makes Dr. Oates a liability to a patients health and well-being.

EXTREMELY KNOWLEDGABLE AND CARING – Dr. Jones is one of the best I've ever had. She's been treating my connective tissue disorder for 3 years. Matter of fact and tailors her discussions to your level of expertise and desire for details. She patiently listens to your description of symptoms and then asks questions. Notices physical gestures and asks detailed questions- pain, stiffness, hyper-extension, etc. I didn't have to point them out as problem areas. Doesn't over-prescribe or order tests that are not needed, but does in... read more

Aviod at all cost – This is a terrible place avoid going here at all cost. The Dr. Burke is a nervous wreck and so are most of his staff. They messed up my insurance information and ended up charging me to make up for their failure .

i have used the fondren orthopedic group for various problems such as knee joints and wrist ..i recommend this group of doctors highly for their professionalism and their courtesy..i have had no problems with the office staff, with one exception when i stopped by the woodlands office to enquire about my new insurance and being "out of network", and the woman didnt want to help me and told me to call the main office instead..i have been a patient there off and on as well as at the main street office and was surperised at this... read more

Long wait time! – Dr. B. Boone did surgery on my knee. When I went for my after-surgery check up, after waiting an hour, I went to check on what was wrong. I was told that a 1-3 hour wait was "built in" to my appointment time and there was still someone ahead of me. I think this is ridiculous.

the best – I have had four surgeries performed by three of the docs at FOG (they need to change their name). I initially chose Dr. Cain (knee specialist now deceased) because he was the Oilers ortho doc. He was the slight of build guy who used to run out on the field when a player went down. Since that first surgery in 1982 (cartilage, right knee), I have had two additional cartilage repairs, another right knee in 2002 and a left knee cartilage last month. In addition, I have had a right shoulder operation and several visits... read more

not a good company – I will not recommend this company at all I feel they don't make there patients feel comfortable. They even treat there staff bad. I have often seen management yell and scream at there employees I feel that is very disrepectful and unprofessional. I went to the Fondren Orthopedic on main and I was very displeased.

Dr. Rubin changed my life (36 years old with Reiter's) – I had been to 3 other rheumatologists before seeing Dr. Rubin. The other 3 properly diagnosed 1 of my medical conditions; however, they did not pick up on the other 2 major contributing diseases. Each of my previous doctors put me on what they considered the ?time tested? medication for my autoimmune disease (Reiter?s Syndrome) and were not very informative or compassionate. I was a VERY healthy 34 year old at the time when my disease struck and was nearly bedridden af... read more
