Relaxing and formal - all roled into one I'm a little bit partial to this place because my mother is the restaurant manager. Full disclosure...so here are some things that are my favorite at Holly Hill. Tapas Tuesday is the last Tuesday of every month. I just attended my first one and it was mouth watering good. Each plate and suggested glass of wine is under $8.00 so very reasonable and take 4 people order 4 or 8 plates of food and enjoy the sharing. Every Memorial Day they host the Hamburger Hootenanny...Perhaps the larges... read more
Holly Hill Inn The Holly Hill Inn is a lovely historic home serving as a restaurant. The setting is lovely and convenient, and the atmosphere is sophisticated. They serve lunch and dinner, and brunch on Sundays. The service is first class, but they are expensive. The cuisine is French with a local Kentucky flavor, and although it is billed as 5-star cuisine, it really wasn't that good when we ate there...I would give it 3 stars. The amuse-bouche was the best part of the meal, and the blueberry sorbet was also quite good. The... read more

Best Restaurant Near Lexington – My husband and I had dinner here for an anniversary. Definitely a place to go for special occassions or if you just enjoy great food and great service! The food was excellent and different enough to stand out from other places. My husband had the lamb, and it was delicious. The menu changes monthly, so check out their website to see what they're serving. Although a little pricey, it was definitely worth it! And I loved the prix fixe menu. We ordered 3 courses, and we were pleasantly full afte... read more
User review by craigor – Wow. Went to Holly Hill with no particular expectations other than some good, local fare. Boy, was I wrong. Beautifully set in Midway, my wife and I enjoyed a two hour dinner with some of the best food I have ever had in this part of the country. Dishes looked as beautiful as they tasted. Only disappointment was the dim lighting. A definite place to take someone you want to impress!

Excellent! – Owned and operated by a husband (sommelier) & wife (chef) team, Holly Hill Inn is a charming restaurant in Midway KY (about 20 min drive from Lexington). It is by far the best place I have eaten since moving to Lexington 6 years ago (and one of the best places I have eaten in ever). The menu changes monthly and most dishes are created with fresh local ingredients. For a fixed price of $35 you get an appetizer, soup or salad, main dish, and dessert. An outstanding value considering the quality of the food. They a... read more
Fantastic, usually – If the proprietor sticks to what she know best, the food, ambiance, service, are excellent. With one exception (Bangkok in the Bluegrass), our experiences here have been stellar. I would advise that callers check the menu offerings before making a reservation. If the menu is offering items of local/continental fare, you will not be disappointed. Tip: Patrick is the waiter of choice.
