I had a deeply disappointing and traumatic experience at this facility. The radiology tech, Bernarda, repeatedly questioned how I knew I was claustrophobic, showed a lack of empathy, and did not explain critical aspects of the MRI, including where the call light was or what physical sensations to expect with contrast. After the appointment, I raised my concerns with Patient Relations. The response I received felt generic and dismissive. The new MRI machine is so much better than the old one. It’s not as loud and the staff is amazing! My MRI time flew by so quickly and was truly the best one I’ve had yet!
I have had MRIs at Zeeland Hospital ( equipment attached to outside as a mobile unit) and at Holland Hospital ( inside permanent fixture). At Zeeland Hospital you are put on a jerky lift without a sturdy railing (chain) and in the cold before you reach the MRI platform. Holland Hospital has a dedicated inside MRI and patients are even offered a warm sheet/blanket if they feel cold in the hospital gown.
