I arrived at 4 PM, after flying since 5 AM, and was told there was no room ready with no idea when it would be available. I can understand delays, but the front desk staff was rude, unhelpful, and offered no information about the hotel or even directions to my room. When I finally got in, it was summer and the AC was off, making the room uncomfortably hot. One of the worst check-in experiences I’ve had — completely unacceptable for a hotel.
If the price was $80 less I'd say it's a good deal. All the carpet in the entire hotel has stains, my bedsheet which they did not turnover had a dried stain in the middle, the shower drain has sediment and debris coming up into the bathtub, the TVs have the same cable from 2005. Nothing was terrible but nothing was good. To top it off there's no breakfast included for $180 a night in the middle of a strip mall road.
We checked in @ 10pm after being at the University of Rochester Hospital all day. We were emotionally drained and exhausted. We got to our room to find the carpet in front of the bathroom soaked with water. It smelled musty. Extremely disappointing experience. The hotel cancelled our reservation at the very last minute, leaving us without a place to stay. We were traveling with kids, and the stress it caused was completely avoidable. To make matters worse, we had no choice but to book another hotel last-minute at nearly double the original price.
