We have always used holiday inn express on our travels to the mountains. We loved it there, very clean, great pool, great breakfast but the afternoon we checked in at1:30 and the receptionist was rude as hell. She obviously didn't want to be there. We had just gotten back from 5 nights of camping as smelled a bit like campfire. She rudely said, you smell like smoke, you cant smoke here and then asked for our car info. I was going to give this hotel a pretty bad review based on my interaction with the Front Desk lady. However, after my stay was completed, I was quite pleased with this location--especially the amazing breakfast selection. My eventual room was clean, quiet, and very comfortable. The young lady at the desk was pleasant and the breakfast lady was amazing. The food was warm, the place was clean, and you simply can't ask for a better experience. Our experience at this hotel was extremely stressful and disappointing. We were given room on the first floor, and as soon as we entered, there was a very strong damp, moldy smell, especially coming from the AC. The carpet felt damp, the room did not feel clean, and within 10–15 minutes I started having irritation in my throat and nose. The room honestly felt like a health hazard and was very uncomfortable to stay in.
