We stayed on Tuesday, April 1st, with a service animal. The front desk clerk was very rude and in front of a lobby full of people kept stating that I was not sick and that my dog was not a service animal. She just kept humiliating me. I offered to go out and get my service animal's documents, but she refused to look at it. Also, the hotel was painting on the floor we stayed on. The smell was overwhelming and nauseating. I am an IHG Diamond level member. I spend over 100 nights per year in hotels. Because of this, I have more hotel points than I can use. I have booked over 50 rooms for family and friends to stay. Typically a call to the front desk prior is all that is needed to add a name to the reservation. Needed a room 1 night while driving back home to Michigan. It was set up perfectly for us. King bed faced 'towards' TV so we could watch while resting in bed. Had a very cool side lounge chair with a movable stand to use for chair or bed. Also had a slide out ottoman under desk which was convenient. Small fridge & microwave with a coffee maker. Having 2 kids in college in Montevallo, this is my go-to place to stay whenever I visit them. The staff have always been friendly and helpful. The rooms are clean. There are numerous places nearby to shop and eat.
