About this business
Our business began when Fred Holcombe from Mars Hill and Robert Tilson, also originally from Mars Hill, built and established Holcombe & Tilson Funeral Home in 1929. That partnership continued until Mr. Tilson's untimely death in 1937. Mr. Harmon Edwards, a Yancey County farmer and former sheriff, purchased Tilson's interest and changed the name to Holcombe & Edwards Funeral Home.

Jerry and the staff are the finest people I know. We did not have to worry about anything. They go above and beyond. They treated my family with kindness, and mostly they treated our father with dignity and respect. We will never forget all they mean to us.
