Flew into the Real County Airport (49R) on Saturday specifically to check out the BBQ, and it was worth the 2hr flight! The location is incredibly convenient, sitting right next to the airfield. I had the brisket, boudin, and sausage—all were excellent. For any pilots out there, the approach into Leakey is a fun one with the surrounding hills (reminded me a bit of flying in Colorado). If you are looking for a great 'hundred-dollar hamburger' destination, this is it. Great food and a cool location. Highly recommend!
Good food, great atmosphere and sometimes you meet people that just fly in from DFW. Hey if you see those pictures, I thought you might appreciate them.
