I am another patient whose records were taken and then disclosed by the office manager. My records were requested as part of an insurance claim following a car accident. The paper copies of mine and another patients electronic records were held onto by this receptionist, instead of being destroyed. The office manager then threw them at the other patient, along with a nasty comment. We have no idea why she did this, other than being told by our attorney that she was very uncooperative with him. Receptionist violated HIPAA and CMIA by unlawfully taking and disclosing mine and a family members protected records. Vince has done nothing to comply with the law regarding this, and done nothing to take care of the patients harmed by this.
