Jim did an incredible job reconstructing my vintage 1960s wedding dress. The piece had delicate antique lace, but he handled it with precision and care. He completely reworked the neckline and added boning and a corset structure, transforming the dress while still preserving its original character. The fit is flawless. I trusted him with something irreplaceable, and he exceeded expectations.
I cannot recommend Jim at Hoax Couture highly enough. I came to him with a photo and a vision, and after a few thoughtful tweaks, Jim sketched out the wedding dress of my dreams. Jim is an incredible, patient listener who truly understands how to translate a concept into reality. He even helped source unique, beautiful fabric from Spain that made the dress feel truly one-of-a-kind. Jim did an amazing job with alterations to my wedding dress! I had a fairly short window before my wedding and he was able to complete the work really quickly. He was lovely to work with and I really appreciated his thoughtful input in regards to the tailoring. Would highly recommend Hoax Couture for any alterations!
I would definitely recommend Hoax Couture if you're looking for a bespoke dress of high-quality. Jim & Chris are excellent at their craft and a pleasure to work with. I had two dresses for my wedding, one I bought from a boutique that needed alterations and one made completely from my own imagination.
