They need to rename the pain management team to simply the pain team because in addition to the physical pain I'm suffering from trying to work with the pain team is painful. I was referred to the Hoag Spine Institute because I was suffering from debilitating neck and shoulder pain which was preventing me from being functional. They ordered an MRI and gave me an anti inflammatory which didn't do anything for the pain I was feeling. I scheduled the soonest MRI that was available which was a month away. Poor ergonomic seating in the waiting room. Inconsistent medical staff during consults. How do you get to the root of an issue if you’re seeing a new provider every time? I ended my last visit with very unfriendly office staff. As a scheduler myself, I understand it’s a tough position to be in. With this in mind, I was extremely friendly and flexible with my scheduler/MA, even plastering a smile to my face despite being in pain. I was dismayed to see that patients have given the Spine Center a 3.3 rating. My experience has been different. Let's start with Gina and Dr. Kantor, the very best PA and surgeon I have ever met. I had been searching for 7 years for a back surgeon. I met Gina first and she opened the trust door, and I instantly knew that she and Dr. Kantor could/would fix all my back issues, and they did.
