Unfortunately I didn’t get the name of our guide as I was late joining the group but the young man did any amazing job sharing his wealth of knowledge about the mine and its history. The difficulties faced by the pioneering miners could not be overemphasised. The tour of the mine was simply sensational. Be aware that it requires some agility and I was glad I was wearing a hard hat (which is mandatory) because my head hit the roof a number of times. Well worth doing it very knowledgeable guide
Wow, wow, wow. What an incredible experience. Going down a disused mine and seeing how our forefathers earnt a living. They were tough. This was an incredible tour and our guide was a wealth of knowledge. The scenery above ground is spectacular and all the old equipment makes for some beautiful photo ops. Great value and an experience that shouldn't be missed. The scones with jam and cream were sensational. The best I've ever had.
