Filed a claim in December 2024 and have not even gotten a status update on it. This is the second claim adjuster assigned to me and no status yet. They do not have good communication and apparently they do not pay claims either
Had to close my business down because of Hiscox. My store was broken into and 90% of my inventory was stolen. They took about 5 months to pay and they didn't pay much, after I paid my back rent for the 5 months, I had no money to restock my business. After 5 years of business I had to close.
I’ve had to make a total of 3 claims in my 3 years in business and two of them for customers were handled in a timely manner until I was robbed and I needed money to replace tools that were stolen. Since then I have to call weekly for updates. It’s Been several months with no luck of getting paid and my claim specialist Shanice edness is never able to reach via email or phone. 24 hours to get a COI sent is just ridiculous. Ever heard of email? It only takes minutes, if that!!! Perhaps AI will step in and get these out much quicker? Who knows...
Was hopeful that an insurance company as widely known as Hiscox would not resort to price gouging on the first year renewal - I thought they were actually competitive to other insurance I had carried for many years. But buyer beware: the first year their renewal terms were an almost 50% price jump - take it or leave it. Now reading other reviews about so-called "insured" payers given a hard time having their claims processed, as well as receiving charges after policies were cancelled - all of these are MAJOR RED FLAGS.
