Absolutely pitiful
$740 for a 15 minute interview and filling out 260 questionnaire?! Mandated by weight loss surgeon for psychiatric clearance prior to bariatric surgery. The cost levied by Dr. Hirsch seems excessive. Ideally the clinical interview includes reasons for seeking surgery, weight and diet history, current eating behaviors, understanding of the surgery and its associated lifestyle changes, social supports and history, and psychiatric symptoms. American medicine is expensive but this is ridiculous.
