Yay Women Running the Store! Hippo is totally dope. I love going in there to browse. I have sold stuff there, and bought stuff there. Pricing is reasonable. Also they are super helpful. Now that they have women running the place, it's actually organized.
A fun place to see I love Hippo Hardware. If you are looking for an old galss knob or any hardware from back in the day this is the place for you. They sell antique fixtures, lighting and plumbing. They also upstairs sell old antiques, mirrors, clawfoot tubs, etc. It is just a fun place to see you never know what you will find.
Not your typical hardware store! OK, so this is not the place for you if you want the basic hardware supplies you would find at ACE or Home Depot. Hippo Hardware is all about the type of hardware that you add to your older house to give it a vintage/retro or classy look. This place is chock full of bins, buckets and stacks of antique fixtures, knobs, lights and just about any other type of vintage hardware. Hippo Hardware is not your average hardware store This such a fun place to explore when you are looking for something unique for your home. There is stuff everywhere so be prepared to explore, you never know what you will find.
Great place for old homes We have a 1942 house, and we can have faith that Hippo Hardware will have whatever we need for it. Whether it be antique fixtures or decorations to complete the look. The staff is very knowledgeable and helpful. I went there looking for an antique dimmer knob, which I didn't think I could find anywhere and of course, they had about 10 of them!
