Hilton Garden Inn 8th Avenue – September, 2010 I travel in from Chicago to meet a friend from Little Rock, AR as this is my favorite vacation spot. This was my 5th time staying at the Hilton Garden Inn on 8th Avenue. My sister Debra met me this time. Not so bad – We were leary about staying here after reading negs & after having initial reservations incorrect. The rate on the dates we wanted was $40/night more than quoted & days would not give us that rate or even meet half way; even though it was their mistake!! On arrival we were told our reservations were for a queen Non-smoking; instead of queen smoking; as requested. We were offered a double in smoking; but ended up w/ the queen non-smoking. Misleading photos – I stayed at the Days Hotel this past weekend and the only good thing I can say about it is that it is in a good location that's close to everything. The pictures on the internet were VERY misleading. I paid the extra $ for the upgraded floor and let me tell you...I can only imagine what the non-upgraded floors look like!!!! The sheets had holes and the curtains were stained. Not to mention that the lady at the info. desk was extremely rude!!! For my next trip I will not be going back to the Days Hotel!
A bare-bones place to rest your head. – The Scene This hotel is plain and practical, but that doesn't mean you should mark it off your list of options. Midtown-convenient, this 367-room branch of the respected chain is for travelers who like to know what to expect upon arrival. Good Value – It's not the swankiest by any means, but it's a good hotel. Can't beat the location. Lots of little problems with room when we checked in, but the staff took care of them immediately. Staff isn't overly gregarious, by any means, but it is very efficient. Good size rooms, as compared to some of the older, recently renovated hotels in the area at similar prices.
