Just under 2hrs from our home, Hillside was a great place to spend the weekend unwinding. Joy our host was very welcoming. She even took the time to give us a brief history of the property and the cottages. The cottage was an excellent size for couples. We took our own food but you aren't far away from the centre of York, where there are pubs, cafes and other sights. Including a motor museum.
We returned to Hillside for a third time recently and as usual had an excellent, relaxing break. Joy is a very welcoming host with wonderful attention to detail.The atmosphere at Hillside is perfect for a mini break - we’ll be back again soon!
Very pleasant place for a holiday, quiet location with a bush feeling.
Love love love Hillside retreat! Surrounded by beautiful gardens, wildlife and amazing views of the hills. The rooms are cosy and comfortable. Comfy couches and beds. The owner Joy, would have to be one of loveliest people you’ll ever meet, extremely, helpful, accommodating and welcoming of both us and our furr baby. Highly recommend. We will be back sooner than later.
We had a beautiful few days in York staying at Hillside retreat. The accommodation has everything we needed. We would love to visit again!
